Ed
Valenti, Founder/
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Valenti knows media like few others. Having begun his radio
and television career with legendary broadcaster Lowell Thomas at
Capitol Cities/ABC/Disney, and later managing the sales department
for a major NBC television station, Mr. Valenti (with his partner
Barry Becher,) went on to attain his now legendary success as the
marketing and media mastermind behind some of America's most successful
direct response campaigns, including the $50 million dollar Ginsu
Knives and the $80 million dollar Amourcote Cookware campaigns.
As the co-owner and Executive Media Director for Dial Media Inc.,
Mr. Valenti was in control of a media budget that made he and his
partner Barry Becher the 18th largest users of spot television time
in America, right ahead of Coca-Cola and just behind AT&T. He
currently oversees all strategic media planning and placement for
PriMedia’s national, regional and local clients.

He is currently COO and Co-founder of PriMedia Inc. working on
some of America’s best known companies and brand names, including:
Xerox, IMAX, Legal Sea Foods, Astra-Zeneca, APC, Boston Acoustics
and RE/MAX.
Ed is the past recipient of numerous industry awards including
seven ECHO awards for order generation (the highest award in the
international direct marketing industry) as well as numerous New
England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA), Hatch, U.S. Television
Commercials Festival and Advertising Age awards for creative excellence.
He has also served as a regional judge for the National Emmy Awards,
and the International ECHO Awards.
Mr. Valenti, and his work, have also appeared in numerous documentaries
on national television networks ranging from ABC, The History Channel,
The Discovery Channel and A&E. His work has also been featured
on VH 1’s “Pop up Videos” and MTV’s Mini
Series, “I Love The 70’s.”
Recognition
of Mr. Valenti's talents and expertise also extends to the White
House where he served both as a major fund-raiser for the Bush Administration
and on the National Executive Committee of the Employer Support
of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR) under the assistant Secretary
of Defense.
Mr. Valenti has been employed in sales and sales management positions at
a number of major radio and television stations and has also served as a
media strategy consultant to the Democratic National Committee. He has also
served as an independent consultant to the Independent Television Companies
Association (ITCA) in London, England. He is currently a corporation member
of Bradley Hospital and has served as a consultant to the annual Children's
Christmas Card fund-raising program. Ed also directs Pro-Bono advertising
for LaSalle Academy, Rhode Island Catholic High Schools and the Feinstein
Foundation "Good Deeds" program, and is currently a member of
the Board of Directors for both the Feinstein Foundation and Special Olympics.
In addition,
Ed has recently co-authored a remarkably entertaining (and educational)
book called The Wisdom of Ginsu ( Career Press) and completed a

Becher. Photos from the tour are shown below. Click to enlarge.
