As PriMedia's President/CEO, Managing Partner, and Direct Marketing Creative Director, Jim Cooney oversees many of the firm's largest accounts, including AAA, Honey Dew Donuts, American Power Conversion, Xerox, AllianceBernstein CollegeBoundfund, Air Canada's Canada, New England Electric, Stannah Stairlifts, IMAX, Astra-Zeneca, Bryant University, Gutter Helmet, Boston Acoustics, Newport Grand and RE/MAX of New England.

Jim also offers PriMedia clients direct marketing, media planning and marketing strategy recommendations, coordinates any creative, production and/or Public Relations services requested by clients through strategic partner firms, directs any outdoor, alternative, print and on-line media buying PriMedia clients may require, and oversees the day-to-day operations of the agency and its personnel.

Jim has worked in direct marketing and media buying for nearly 30 years on local, national and regional accounts. As a twenty five time ECHO, New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) and Supershow award-winning copywriter, broadcast producer, creative director, account executive, media planner/buyer, marketing strategist and consultant, Vice President and Account Supervisor, Jim is experienced in all facets of direct marketing and general advertising with media planning and buying experience in top print, outdoor, alternative media, radio, cable and TV markets, as well as national print, broadcast and outdoor.

Jim has also served as a judge for the publicity club of New England's "Bell Ringer"awards, the Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association's "Benny" Awards and, on numerous occcasions, the International ECHO Awards, the highest honor in the Direct Marketing industry.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth with a B. A. in History, Jim is a published short-story author and songwriter and has previously worked as a sports columnist, entertainment editor and correspondent on numerous newspapers in Southeastern Massachusetts. He is a corporation member of Bradley Hospital and served for a number of years as both copywriter and direct marketing consultant for the hospital's Annual Children's Christmas Card fund-raising program.

He is also a past President and current board member of the Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick (Providence) a member of the Smithfield Elks Lodge, works on the Rhode Island Catholic High Schools, Save The Bay, and the Feinstein "Good Deeds" and "End Hunger" (R. I. Community Food Bank) campaigns on a Pro-Bono basis and works on a volunteer basis assisting with video production and direction of the award winning “Special Olympics Rhode Island Magazine” television series.

In his spare time, Jim has played left field, center field, second and third base for the Rhode Island Mariners "Mens over 30" amateur baseball team and was a member of the 1993 and 1994 teams that finished second in the world at the Men's Senior Baseball World Series in Phoenix, Arizona. Jim has also competed in the “over 40" division of the R.I. Mens Senior Baseball League ( RIMSBL) as a member of the five time defending State Champion East Providence Yankees, who were MSBL World Series national final four finalists in 2001 and World Champions in 1998.

He currently plays centerfield for both the East Providence Yankees Over 35 and Over 45 baseball teams and was the starting rightfielder and a leading hitter for the RI Salty Dogs team that won the Mens Over 45 wood bat baseball world championship at the 2007 MSBL World Series in Phoenix, Arizona.

The father of four, Jim recently celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary.
